Sun, light bulbs, and TV screens are luminous. However, most objects are non-luminous which reflect lights only.

A ray of light is a line drawn to show the path that the light waves take. We need to study what happens when an incident light ray (a light ray that is going to fall on a surface) hits a mirror and is reflected off.

  • The incident ray, the reflected ray and the normal at the point of incidence lie in the same plane.
  • The angle of incidence is equal to the angle of reflection.
